This group is for those who are already in a process of somatic healing and transformation and who want to deepen in a community context. It is not a good fit for those who are new to somatics.
I am currently prioritizing queer and trans folks, yet all are welcome to apply. I will review all applications as they come in and will be in touch within a week.
About
This group meets weekly to practice, move, heal, and grow together as a collective body. It is a practice space for ongoing depth and exploration as somatic bodies moving towards aliveness, connection, and resilience under the current conditions of white supremacy, queer and transphobia, and among the stories of isolation and self-sufficiency we are swimming in. Practices will center the experiences of queer and trans people, yet all are welcome to apply. The sessions are shaped by the group and by what is alive and needed within the collective. Session content is intended to serve each person's needs as much as possible while holding the needs of the group as a whole.
In order to cultivate a space of depth and connection, the request is that everyone attends weekly. There will be occasional breaks, and of course life happens, but please know that this is a weekly group, not a drop-in space.
Required Prerequisite
This group is for those who have worked with me (Zoë), or completed a 10 week practice group with me...
or for those who have equivalent experience with the generative somatics or Strozzi Institute methodology (worked with a practitioner, or participated in a course or training)
Structure
This group is ongoing with the intention of building a community of practice and support. I ask that you commit to at least 3 months of participation when you join in. If and when you decide you want to complete, I ask for a full months notice or payment. This helps me take care of myself financially and secures the stability of the container we are building together.
Facilitated by Zoë April (she/her), a white trans woman living in the southern swamps of Gainesville, FL on Seminole land. Zoë is a generative somatics and Strozzi trained coach, bodyworker, and group facilitator. She also holds an MA in Embodiment Studies.
We meet the first 4 weeks of the month, meaning that we will have a break on the last week of the months that have 5 weeks.
The cost is $160/month (less than half the cost of individual work!) and can be billed weekly or monthly.
