The Hereford Diocesan Board of Education’s (HDBE) role is to provide guidance and support to the governing board of church schools. To welcome new clerks to the Hereford Diocese, we offer bespoke an online induction session designed to support you in your new role, whether you are an experienced governance professional or new to the clerking role.

The purpose of this 75 mins session is to meet with officers from the Education Team who will give an overview of:

The clerk’s role in a church school
The role of the Hereford Diocesan Board of Education
Church schools and the role of the Foundation Governor
Different types of church schools and how this impacts the clerk’s role
Introduction to further support and development available

This induction session is FREE to all clerks to governing boards in church schools and academies across the Diocese of Hereford and flexibility can be offered with regards to suitable dates and times.
