In recent years, physicians have found a link between breast and ovarian cancers through the BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations. This is referred to as HBOC, or  hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome, that makes some women more high risk. The syndrome is an adult-onset, cancer predisposition syndrome. So much about the link between these two cancers is still unknown but genetic testing is key to identifying the risk.
