Making Zines: Creating texts for classroom projects using written and visual texts Waiting List
Oide Creativity, in collaboration with Sarah Maria Griffin presents a two-part online elective workshops, open to post-primary teachers from all subject disciplines.

This workshop offers participants an opportunity to:
  • engage in a zine-making* workshop, using 'six things to say about..." as a framework for the chosen topic.
  • create a text using words and images on paper or in digital format
  • discuss and reflect on the use of zine-making to support structuring and producing texts in the classroom
  • experience practical and creative methodologies that may be used in professional classroom practice (including CBAs)
  • consider possibilities for their own writing
*A zine is a self-published document that covers a wide range of topics and offers the opportunity to share opinions, knowledge, understanding and experience of a topic either in print or in digital format. Zines can be as simple or as complex as the maker wishes and are an accessible way to support story-telling and sharing.
