Please list the name(s) of the guinea pig(s) you are applying to adopt. If you're not applying for a specific animal, you can leave this section blank.
How many guinea pigs do you want to adopt? Please select all that apply. *
Required
What are you looking for in a guinea pig? *
E.g. What personality traits, physical characteristics, gender, age, etc.
Please tell us more about why you're wanting to add guinea pigs to your family, and how long you've been considering the decision. *
Who will be the primary caretaker of the guinea pig(s)? *
Do you currently have a suitable sized cage? *
Guinea pigs need a large enough cage to be able to run around and exercise when they are in their cage. A pair of guinea pigs need a cage that is about 56"x28" or 10.5 sq ft.

If you already have a cage, please email us a photo at preciouscritterspr@gmail.com
What are the dimensions of your cage (in inches)? *
If you do not have a C&C cage (or similar), are you willing to buy/build one? *
What brand of guinea pig pellet diet will you use for your guinea pig(s)? *
A good quality pellet diet is very important. A pellet diet with "treats" and "vitamins" is actually quite unhealthy for guinea pigs. A plain pellet-based diet is much better. We feed our guinea pigs Oxbow Guinea Pig food. This can be purchased through us, from a local pet store, or online for very cheap.
What types of veggies will you feed your guinea pigs? *
Guinea pigs daily dietary requirements include unlimited timothy/grass hay, pellets, and 1 cup of fresh veggies. Daily veggies should include greens and bell pepper, and sugary fruits/veggies should be fed sparingly.
The average guinea pig lifespan is 5-8 years. Do you anticipate any life events during this average that would prevent you from taking care of your guinea pigs for the entirety of their lives? *
E.g., household moves, caretaker leaving for college, etc
Do you currently have a piggy-savvy vet for your piggies? *
Please note, not all veterinarians see guinea pigs as they are considered an exotic species. Your current family vet for your dogs and/or cats may not take guinea pig patients, we recommend calling your existing vet to confirm that they see guinea pigs.
How often will you take your guinea pigs to the vet? *
If you do have a vet, please provide us with the vet's name and/or clinic.
