Bio-Inspired Self-Healing Concrete with Enhanced Durability

Traditional concrete infrastructure suffers from degradation due to factors like cracking, weathering, and chemical attack, leading to safety concerns and high maintenance costs.

We have developed a bio-inspired self-healing concrete that can autonomously repair microcracks, extending the lifespan of infrastructure by more than 6.7 years and reducing maintenance needs by 8%. This could be achieved by incorporating a mix of calcium compounds and microorganism that will act on the calcium compounds to repair microcracks in the concrete.

We are a group of 3 researchers looking to commercialise our research and are looking for members who can join our founding team. You may be compensated with equity or a salary depending on what you can bring to the table. We welcome people from any backgrounds, but preferably in business and/or tech.
