2021-2022 Volunteer Opportunities
Please review the list below for the Father Andrew White School volunteer opportunities for the 2021 - 2022 school year. Individuals are needed for Home and School Association (HSA) fundraisers and social gatherings as well as school events and activities. Please note the dates for all planned fundraisers are tentative and may be changed for other unexpected church or school events.

Please check each event that you are interested in being a volunteer.
Back to School Pancake Breakfast - This delicious event was a big hit last year! Volunteers are needed to assist in setting up, cooking in the kitchen, distributing food, collecting donations and cleaning up.
Hanging Artwork at County  Fair - Our art teacher, Mrs. Gavin, would love to have a parent come help hang the FAW artwork at the fairground on Monday, September 20th at 8am, and take the work down on Monday, September 27th. The time commitment would likely be about one hour.
*Crusader Cup - One out of three of the mandatory volunteer fundraiser events.
The Crusaders Cup is a fun event that raises money for our school and brings our parent/adult community together. It is also one of the mandatory volunteer fundraiser events.  Committee Member Volunteer -- meet weekly with the golf team and sign up golfers and sponsors. Wear comfortable shoes because we pound the pavement looking for participation!  Day of Event Volunteer -- help the day of the event with set-up, supporting the tournament and/or helping with clean up.
Whooo's Reading - Our fun online read-a-thon was a whoooge success in our inaugural year! Volunteers are needed to help set up the online system, acquire incentives, count tickets, and keep students motivated.
Trunk-or-Treat - This "spook"-tacular event will be held in the evening and will be fun for the whole family!  Kids can come in costume, walk through the parking lot stopping at cars that have decorated trunks and receive candy. Volunteers are needed for planning, coordinating, and running the event.
Poinsettias and Live Greenery Sale - Decorate your home for the holidays while supporting FAW. Volunteers are needed to take orders and distribute plants.
Fishing Tournament - Are you "hooked" on fishing? Do you want to help those who are "Casting for the Crusaders?" This new event is for you! Competitors will launch their boats and head out on the water to try and reel in the big one. Volunteers are needed to plan and coordinate the events for the day.
The Thanksgiving Luncheon is a beloved tradition where we celebrate Thanksgiving with our Father Andrew White community.  There are many volunteering opportunities for this event; however, our focus is still community building, so we will make sure that all volunteers have the opportunity to enjoy lunch with their children. Volunteers are needed to work in the kitchen and help serve food.
During Santa's Shop, children are able to experience the joy of choosing their own Christmas presents for family members, friends, and pets. This event is held in the gym where children are able to select from an inventory of pre- purchased gifts for those on their shopping list. Volunteers are needed to assist students when shopping and to wrap the gifts.
During Cookies with Santa, families enjoy snacks and crafts with a jolly visitor. Volunteers are needed to help decorate and set up the event.
Raffle for Tuition - Take your chances to win tuition for a year.  Volunteers are needed to coordinate the event and distribute tickets.
Catholic Schools Week is a national celebration of Catholic education and an opportunity to recognize the importance, value, and contributions of Catholic education to the Church and the world. This week is marked with fun-filled events to honor and celebrate our students, faculty/staff, and community. Volunteers are needed to help plan the events for the week.
Each year during Catholic Schools Week, an event takes place during an evening where families come to experience and enjoy specially planned activities in each classroom. For International Night volunteers are needed to assist teachers in planning the decorations, food, activities and games, etc. that will represent that grade level.
*Italian Dinner & Brown Bag Auction - One out of three of the mandatory volunteer fundraiser events.
Enjoy a delicious Italian meal for the entire family while spending enjoyable time with our community. You will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win amazing baskets. We will need volunteers to make meatballs and prepare and serve dinner. We will also accept donations for the baskets and need volunteers to sell tickets. This is one of our mandatory volunteer fundraiser events.
Fat Tuesday Drive-Thru Dinner - Support FAW by grabbing dinner to go.  Volunteers are needed to organize, cook and distribute dinner.
*Social/Auction - One out of three of the mandatory volunteer fundraiser events.
Our annual Social/Auction is a fun event for our adult community. We will have both a silent and live auction. As one of the parents’ favorite events and our biggest fundraiser, we need a lot of volunteers to be successful. This is one of our mandatory volunteer fundraiser events.
Fun Run -  Volunteers are needed to organize the event, order t-shirts, acquire sponsors, and distribute prizes.
Teacher Appreciation Week - Volunteers are needed to assist in showing our gratitude for our amazing FAW teachers!
Ice Cream Social - Volunteers are needed to plan this cool event to celebrate the end of the school year.

Room Parents
We need at least one volunteer from each grade level to serve as Room Parent. Room Parents assist the teachers with events in the classroom as needed. The Room Parents are also responsible for helping prepare the class auction items. Note: The Room Parents are selected by the teacher and/or principal from among those who indicate interest. The Room Parent who is selected will be contacted by the teacher or principal directly.
School Volunteers
The kitchen staff is in need of volunteers to ensure that our students receive hot lunch throughout the school year. The schedule for each volunteer runs from 10:30am until roughly 1:30pm, depending on what’s being served that day. Days are fairly flexible. Volunteers can come in as little as once a month or as much as they would like. Duties include handling food, set up, clean up, and assisting students during the lunch period.
Parent volunteers are needed to assist in supervising children outside during recess. All parent volunteers will be paired with one teacher for a shared duty.
Our TV in the lobby runs various announcements, flyers, messages, etc. If you are interested in designing any of the slides to be displayed, please consider volunteering!
Various times the stage is needed so we appreciate when volunteers can lend a hand in setting it up. We typically need help with this for our Christmas Program and our Fall and Spring Theater Productions. (Note: There will be no production this Fall. The other performances will be TBD based on the current situation.)
Theater Productions: Assistance with Sound Systems, Assistant Director, Stage Manager, Set Construction/Design, Costumes, etc.
Coach Volunteer - At this time, the status of sports is TBD during our 2021-2022 school year.
