Pax Environmental Science Institute Application
10 high school students will be selected for Pax Environmental Science Institute (PESI) Spring 2024 Program. 
  • The program will run for 8 weeks every Saturday from 9am-11am 
  • March 23, 2024 - May 17, 2024 
  • No meeting Saturday April 6th (Nordhoff Spring Break)
  • Suggested donation $150 (scholarships available!)
  • All prospective applicants must be commit to attending at least 6 of 8 sessions to be eligible for the program

  • March 30 – Wildlife Rehabilitation @ Ojai Raptor Center 
  • April 13 – Botany @ Ventura River Preserve (Oso Trailhead) with Pax Botanist Colleen Del Vecchio 
  • April 20 – Tribal Resources @ Ojai Valley Museum with Chumash Elder Julie Tumamait Stenslie 
  • April 27 – Archaeology @ Camp Comfort with Pax Archaeologist Jorge Peralta 
  • May 4 – Nursery Management @ Ojai Meadows Preserve with OVLC/Sophie McLean 
  • May 12 – Marine Biology @ Rincon Beach with Pax Marine Biologist Patrice Ringelstein 
  • May 17 – Field Art @ Ventura River Preserve (Rice Rd Trailhead) with Author Obi Kaufman 
Each session will be held outdoors in the Ojai Valley, where you'll explore environmental topics with local environmental professionals.  Pax Environmental is an Ojai-based environmental consulting firm founded by two Nordhoff alumni.
