Ken Fovargue Grant Application
HISTORY
AFBEA established an annual grant in 1998 for the amount of $500 to honor the memory of Ken Fovargue, former firefighter in Bullhead City, Arizona. Ken, a member of the Bullhead City Fire Department from 1984 until 1995, was an active participant in the development of the AFBEA Characterization Conference for many years. He developed a character named “Frogman” to teach water safety. After retirement, he helped develop a clown ministry troupe for Hope Methodist Church. His dedication and inspiration to educational characterization was just one example of how he lived. Ken died in June 1997 after a long battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease.
