With more than 800,000 Americans living with end-stage kidney disease and 1 in 20 patients living with chronic heart failure, there is a significant demand for healthy organs to use for organ transplants. Scientists have continually worked to find solutions for this pressing issue, such as xenotransplantation. Xenotransplantation is the transplantation of an organ from one species to another. There have been a few successful xenotransplants using pig organs, but they are far from becoming as frequent as allotransplants. There are limited studies examining how religion can affect ethical views of xenotransplantation. This lack of knowledge causes scientists and doctors to overlook religious disagreements on continuing research on xenotransplantation. However, it is still essential to consider the ethical and religious implications of the practice from a religious perspective before xenotransplantation becomes a frequent practice in transplantation facilities. This survey aims to answer if religious beliefs and values can affect one's opinion on Xenotransplantation.Your responses will be kept private, and all participants will be anonymous. This survey is optional and should take only 5 - 15 minutes to complete. Responding to this survey assumes that you have consented to participate. Please only respond to this if you are Jewish.
