1) The priority deadline for this nomination cycle is November 19, 2021. The induction class initially planned for 2021 has been postponed to Homecoming 2022. We are still welcoming new nominations, because this is often a multi-year process from nomination to induction.

2) While nominations can be received at any time, actual inductions may coincide with the five-year anniversary increments of the athlete/contributor’s graduation or departure from WWC. This will allow fellow alums to honor the inductees during normal visit cycles.

3) While there is no minimum number of inductees, the current intent is to welcome 3-4 inductees in a given year, and to select worthy nominees from all genders, sports, and decades where possible.  

Alumni or Contributing Athlete:
The nominee must have been a generally accepted, extraordinary contributor to the success of the athlete’s team or as an individual performer in an individual sport. Statistical evidence (compared with standards of the period) and/or nominator testimony must define ‘extraordinary’.   Waiting period: Nominees within this category must wait five years after graduation or departure from WWC to be considered for induction. Nominees within the other categories are not required to complete a five-year waiting period.

Athletic Program Contributor:
Most often defined as a coach, administrator, or benefactor, this category recognizes those whose contributions have created lasting value to WWC athletics and fostered the ability for WWC to attract and retain student-athletes.

Unique Athletic or Contributor Excellence:
This category recognizes any person associated with WWC who has served or supported the athletics program(s) with distinction and/or whose post-WWC pursuits or contributions enhance or shed positive light on WWC or the athletic program.
