Gwynedd Square/Inglewood Beginner Strings Registration 2023-2024
Dear Families of Beginner Strings Students,

Welcome to the Gwynedd Square/Inglewood String Program! Your child is beginning the exciting journey of learning about music and how to play an instrument, becoming a musician, and joining our large community of string players.

Music is an essential part of a well-rounded education. Students enrolled attend two 30-minute classes each week on a rotating schedule throughout the school day. It is expected that students come to each class with their assignments prepared. Classes begin in October after instruments have been delivered to the school. Following this year, students will continue to receive two 30-minute classes each week through 6th grade. North Penn also offers a Summer Orchestra Camp for your child to stay involved with their instruments throughout the summer.

Our String Program is proud of its tradition of excellence and offers 4 ensembles for students to participate in as they move through the program. This year, your child will be a member of the Beginner Orchestra. In subsequent years, they will have opportunities to join our Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra, and Chamber Strings. We are excited to have your child join our program and continue our musical traditions!

We are holding a MEET THE INSTRUMENTS NIGHT on Monday, September 11, at 7 pm in the NPHS Auditorium.  Here, your child will have the opportunity to try all of the string instruments and learn more about our string program.

After I have received your registration form, I will email you the appropriate size instrument your child will need as well as a link to begin the instrument rental process.

I am looking forward to an exciting and successful Orchestra learning experience with encouragement and cooperation between home and school.

I understand that in the event I provide my own instrument, it must be checked by Mrs. Feliciani to determine if it meets District specifications. Painted and colored instruments are unacceptable. This is to be completed ASAP before the first class in October. I understand that my instrument may not be suitable for strings class and it is my responsibility to find a replacement.
