Economic Inequalities and Academia

Economic inequality remains one of the key drivers of social stratification, shaping access to, progression through, and participation in academia, particularly for those with caregiving responsibilities or from minoritised backgrounds.

Let’s talk about it.

This online event, on 26th June at 18:00 (UK time), jointly organised by PARSUK (Portuguese Association of Researchers and Students in the UK) and SRUK/CERU (Society of Spanish Researchers in the UK), brings together researchers and academics from Portugal, Spain, and the UK to share cutting-edge research and lived experiences. Together, we’ll reflect on the barriers and opportunities for building a more equitable academic landscape.

Confirmed speakers include Alicia García Sierra (University of Oxford / University of Lausanne), Margarita Torre Fernández (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid – UC3M), Pedro Luis Silva (CIPES – University of Porto / Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and Susana Peralta (Nova School of Business and Economics, Lisbon). The discussion will be moderated by Ana Faro (Royal Veterinary College, University of London).

Register for free by completing the form provided. A Google Meet link granting access to the online event will be sent to the email address you submit prior to the event.
