What does it mean to be a Title I School?
Being a Title I school means receiving federal funding to help students who are low achieving or at most risk of falling behind. A purpose of Title I is to build school and parent capacity for strong parental involvement to improve student achievement.  The intent of Title I is to narrow the education gap that exists between middle and low income children by providing extra resources to help improve instruction in high-poverty schools.
