splitkb.com beta program
Hi! I'm Thomas, the guy behind splitkb.com. I'm working on two new keyboards: the Elora, a 62-key version of the Kyria, and the Aysu, a 36-key keyboard.

These two keyboards are very new, and still in active development. Most of the design work is done, and it's now mostly down to getting the schematics and circuitry done, and then to have prototypes manufactured.

Several people have approached me if they could get their hands on one of these early prototypes. So, with this questionnaire, I'd like to offer a way to get into a potential beta program. Using the answers of this questionnaire, I'll decide on a good way to run the program, so these questions are a way for me to learn how you'd like it to work. Let's get started!

First things first
It's important that you understand what this program entails. So, first let's clear up what you can expect.
I understand that both the Elora and Aysu will be available for sale later, and that the availability of these two keyboards will not be limited to the beta program. *
I understand that participating in the beta program will cost money. *
The beta program
The beta program doesn't have a solid form yet. With these questions, you can help shape how it should be.
For which keyboard(s) would you like to participate in the beta program? *
Required
The beta program should guarantee me a working keyboard by the end of it. *
I don't like selling something that might not work. Prototypes may not work in one go, and might require anything from small rework like adding a wire, to major hot air rework, to downright not being able to work at all. And so, the first keyboard you'd receive in the program might work (great!), or it might not (let's figure out what went wrong!).
I want to receive the final version of the keyboard by the end of the beta program. *
Maybe the first prototype you've received works, maybe it doesn't. Would you want to receive the final version as part of the program?
I want to receive every revision between the first prototype and the last. *
Maybe multiple revisions are required to get it working. Would you want to receive every revision, or just the first and the last one?
Being able to solder is not required to use either keyboard, and is not required to participate in the beta program. Can you solder? *
Should the beta program give you something more than just a prototype keyboard? And if so, what would you like to see?
Do you have any wishes you'd like to see fulfilled in the beta program?
Do you have any feedback for the beta program?
Wrapping up
Tell me something about yourself so I can follow up with you about the beta program.
What is your email address? *
Your email address will be used to send you an invitation to the beta program if and when it launches.
What is your Discord username? *
Discord is one of the best ways to give and receive feedback, and will be used as the primary way to communicate during the beta program. What is your username? Please put it in the form of username#0000.
