CLIMB: The TESOL Career Path Development (CPD) Professional Learning Network (PLN) Mentoring Program
The Career Path Development Professional Learning Network (PLN) is committed to enhancing professional development throughout members' careers and promoting intentional efforts to build member career paths. Focusing on professional excellence, the Career Path Development PLN provides new resources for teachers in search of direction throughout their careers.

The Career Path Development Professional Learning Network is delighted to introduce a new program for members.  Please read on for more information and consider joining us on CLIMB: The TESOL Career Path Development Mentorship Program.  Why CLIMB? Well, C is for Collaborate together; L is for Learn together; I is for Inspire each other; M is for Motivate each other; and B is for Build together.

The purpose of this program is to pair a senior member of the PLN membership with someone who is at an earlier point in their career. Research and experience show us that mentor and mentee relationships thrive when both feel a sense of engagement, impact, and enjoyment with the mentor experience. We suggest that both parties agree on goals that they might achieve together for the year and meet 4 (or more) times as they work on those goals. Although the relationship would be mentor-mentee, the aim is for both participants to benefit from the experience. The goal would be primarily based on the mentee’s need. Goals might include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Working on research together
- Working on a strategy for a change
- Working on giving a presentation or workshop together
- Developing a program/course/initiative together
- Designing an online presence (e.g. website,  blog, etc.)
- Attending and engaging in a virtual conference or webinar event

Participants will be invited to share their experiences.
