UA Soteria is a protected storage and compute environment for sensitive health data available to researchers in 2022. With funding support from the University of Arizona Health Sciences 5.3 Strategic Initiatives plan, the University of Arizona Data Science Institute, University of Arizona Information Technology Services, and CyVerse have joined forces to bring big data science techniques and capabilities to medical research. UA Soteria, named after the Greek goddess of safety, promises to provide an environment in which researchers can securely accelerate their sensitive data. This project is currently in the build phase and will not be piloted until October of 2021.
