(Spring Edition of Charlotte Black Restaurant Week)
SAVOR Black Charlotte™ (Referred to as SAVOR)
April 18th, 2021- April 25th ,2021

-Event Host:
Black Business Owners of Charlotte (BBOC) was founded in November 2014 and has built a strong relationship with business owners, partners, sponsors, and the local community in Charlotte, North Carolina. BBOC is comprised of over 3800 registered members and facilitate an online Marketplace that has over 19,000 members. Our mission is to provide Business Development and other crucial resources to Black business owners while engaging and inspiring the community to invest in Black-owned establishments.
-Event History:
Charlotte Black Restaurant Week™ (CBRW) launched in 2017 and surpassed all expectations! The inaugural event showcased 24 Black-owned restaurants, was patronized by over 40,000 people, was featured in over 75 articles both locally and nationwide, reached over 2 million people on Facebook and impacted the economy with $750,000 exchanged during the week-long event. www.bboclt.com). The even pt has since doubled in popularity and recived an official Proclamation from the City of Charlotte.
-Black Business Owners of Charlotte Agrees to:
From Now until the event, BBOC’s Executive Team, Steering Committee, Partners, & Sponsors will do everything in our power to Drive customers to your restaurant and market your establishment to our extensive network and beyond!
BBOC Proposes to:
Advertise this event within BBOC’s extensive Network. Share the event with local & national publications including but not limited to: NPR, Essence, QCity Metro, Yelp, Charlotte’s Got A lot, Black Enterprise, CRVA, WFAE & many more.
Submit at least 2 Press Releases with the full list of participating restaurants showcased in the final press release.
Design and Email all SAVOR signage that should be printed and displayed at the door of each participating Restaurant.
Partner with local, regional, & national Newspapers, Television Stations, Magazines, and Radio outlets.
Update participating restaurants of any changes in a timely manner, if applicable.
We encourage you to use Open Table or another booking app to prepare for a high customer turnout. We are not liable for any negative publicity that transpires from cleanliness, sanitation score, food allergies, or negative feedback associated with your establishment. Our purpose is to drive customers to your establishment and increase your visibility in the Charlotte community. We will however, provide you valuable guidance in our CBRW digital Pamphlet.
-As a SAVOR 2021 Participant You Agree To Do the Following:
Participate in the inaugural SAVOR Black Charlotte™ and provide discounted meal packages.
Submit your regular priced menu with proposal
Packages must be forwarded to BBOC with accepted proposal. Packages should reflect an overall discount of 50%.
Discounted Meal Packages should be structured as follows:
$10 Meal Package, $20 Meal Package, (and a one to two-party $40 menu-Optional). Each Package Must include 3-5 food Items and must reflect a 50% discount.
To Not inflate prices beyond your regular menu prices, in an attempt to void 50% discount.
Keep your Sanitation score above 92% during SAVOR.
Hire Enough staff to handle a spike in business. When customers were surveyed last year, the most common complaints were increased wait times and lack of adequate staff. This year we URGE you to prepare for an influx in business. Your assigned Ambassador will provide you with insight about how to prepare for business increase during SAVOR.
Signage: We will email you SAVOR signage. Please print and display on your front door and conspicuously throughout your restaurant. We will include printing specs within your Welcome email and SAVOR pamphlet.
Menu: Please create & print a special SAVOR Menu that will display specific food choices for each meal package.
For Ex: $10 Package includes 1 meat & 1 side and a drink.
Include a list of all meat, sides and drink options available for said Meal package.
Promotion: Promote this event on your social media network(s) & website.
Provide $100 in bits-size Samples that will Showcase your business during at least one special event* during cbrw.
*(You will NOT have to work as a vendor during said event. We will provide you tickets so you can attend as our Special Guest(s)) *Covid19 may impact special events.
Pay a SAVOR Vendor Fee (due by April 5th)
Restaurants $150
Specialty Shops $100
(The fees are very affordable when compared to similar events that charge thousands. This is a week long (7-day) event. Consider the fees you would pay for a 1 day 4-6 hour festival)
DO NOT include Alcoholic beverages in SAVOR discounts. Alcohol CANNOT be discounted per ABC laws.
* We understand that establishing Trust is vital in empowering our community. To do our part in establishing that trust, BBOC did not request a vendor fee last year; we wanted restaurants to see how invested we are in their success. Our investment has only increased since last year. Please Note: BBOC Accrued over thousands in SAVOR Event costs (Marketing, Signage, Venues , Insurances, permits etc)

SAVOR BLACK CHARLOTTE™️ 2021 Agreement:
I __________________________(Owners full name), on behalf of ___________________________(Business name), Agree to the terms above.
No Changes can be made to Menu, or Agreed Terms, once contract is signed with Authorization from BBOC and not adhering to agreement could result in removal of your restaurant from the list.
Please submit this contract to
FOUNDER@bboclt.com and an invoice will be sent within 1-2 business days. For your convenience, BBOC can arrange to pick up a Cashier’s Check or Money Order, please contact us to schedule pick-up. No personal or business checks will be accepted.
