Barbados is hosting a certified wound care training offered through the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO).NAWCO is the leading wound care certification organization in the USA and for more than 17 years NAWCO has certified licensed healthcare professionals in wound care. NAWCO is a nonprofit credentialing organization governed by its Board of Directors. The Board of Directors which partners with the independent NAWCO Certification Committee has approved the WCC® board certification.

WCC Certification:

•Assures tested competency in skin and wound management

•Validates skills and expertise for career advancement

•Provides self-confidence and industry recognition

•Increases income potential

The programme consists of 4 days of intensive wound care training and 1 day of a proctored examination. 

Nurses, physicians, podiatrists and other licensed health care professionals with interest in wound care are welcome to register and attend. 

Target: Nurses, physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, podiatrists (licensed health care professionals).

Important: participants must have 2 years of full time wound care experience or 4 years of part-time wound care experience.

Barbados has been offered discounted wound care training as the usual cost of BDS$3000.
