Racialized Students in Healthcare Application Form for 2021/2022
The goal of this virtual program is to assist and increase the number of BIPOC students (particularly Black and Indigenous students) in pursuing higher education and careers in healthcare fields; Medicine, Nursing,  Social Work and Pharmacy. By creating a virtual platform where students can learn from Indigenous community leaders and Healthcare professionals including researchers, physicians, nurses, social workers and pharmacists.

This 6-month virtual lecture series starts July 2021 and occurs weekly from 6-7pm. However the lecture series on HIV legal support takes place from 5-6pm in November. Community engagement opportunities for social work and potential BIPOC law students starts in November 2021.

Community engagement opportunities for non-social work students/law students starts January 2022. An honorarium and a certification of completion will be offered upon completion of this program.

This program is a 6-month virtual learning program that occurs every Thursdays for an hour. Lectures take place in the evening around 5-6 pm/6-7pm. Being a participant in this program requires committing to at least two lectures within each module. All lectures are an hour long. In addition to this you must participate in student debates and discussions. Are you able to commit to this? *
Participation in at least one community research and engagement opportunity offered in this program is required. This will require one hour of your time in addition to the lecture series. Are you able to commit to this? *
Each session of this lecture series ends with a student-led conference that takes place in May. During this conference you will be presenting your research designs to the academic community and the general public. Would you be able to commit to this? *
