’Play it safe’ Opt-In Form

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center will begin teaching ’Play it safe’ lessons to 6-8th grade students at Meridian World School on May 6 and 7 (7th/8th grade) and May 9 and 10 (6th grade).

‘Play It Safe’ lessons discuss the fundamentals of healthy relationships and how to handle unsafe situations. All materials are presented in an age and developmentally appropriate manner and include but are not limited to:

  • Child Abuse (physical and sexual abuse)
  • If a child is a victim of child abuse, it is NEVER their fault, and it’s never too late to tell.
  • Identify abusive relationships (physical and sexual assault)
  •  How to establish healthy boundaries, say ‘No!’, get away, and tell a trusted adult (parent, teacher, counselor,  etc.)
  • Dispel myths of abusers/abuse

If you have questions regarding the curriculum, please contact Tori Algiere, Interim Director of Community Engagement at WCCAC.
