First-Generation Baccalaureate Cording Ceremony and Trailblazer Recognition Ceremony RSVP

The Trailblazer Recognition Ceremony will be on Tuesday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. in the CTC Ruth Lister Gathering Area (1st floor); celebrating students who are receiving two-year, associates, professional certificates and occupational endorsements. Trailblazer students will receive orange cords.

The First-Generation Baccalaureate Cording Ceremony will be on Saturday, April 29 at 2 p.m. in the Carol Brown Ballroom; recognizing students who are receiving four-year baccalaureate degrees. First-Generation baccalaureate students will receive teal cords.

The UAF FirstGenAK program will award four $1,000 scholarships, drawn at random, to eligible students who participate in either ceremony who will continue their education at UAF in fall 2023. Eligibility requirements: evidence of financial need, meeting UAF's satisfactory academic progress policy, first-generation status, admittance into a UAF bachelor's or master's degree program beginning fall 2023. Two scholarships will be awarded to associate's degree graduates who will be pursuing a bachelor's degree at UAF beginning fall 2023 and two scholarships will be awarded to bachelor's degree graduates who will be pursuing a graduate degree (master's or Ph.D.) at UAF beginning fall 2023.
