Regenerate Festival - Persian percussion Workshop w/ Kimia Bani - Friday 24 September - 13:00-15:30

The art of learning how to drum on objects from your daily life to create music. Kimia Bani will demonstrate traditional Persian rhythms on a Daf (Iranian frame drum), while the participants can use objects from their surroundings to drum on, and learn simple Persian rhythms and percussion styles.

The Daf player Kimia Bani was born in 1985 in Tehran/Iran and has been living in Germany since 2018. She is a professional Persian percussionist and music teacher for more than 15 years. She has played with many international musicians and had many concerts both in Iran and Germany. She always tries to do many activities to support the music scene and increasing her knowledge of international music with collaborate with various music groups in Germany, including East and West bands, women and feminist bands, and sexual and gender minority bands. She is the winner of “TamburiMundi Framedrum Award 2021".

This workshop will take place in person at Refuge Worldwide (Weserstr. 166, 12045 Berlin) on Friday 24 September 2021, from 13:00 to 15:30
