Compound Canvas: Contributor Form

Compound Canvas is a platform for reflection on how space is theorized, experienced and transformed. Bringing in the creative perspective provides an opportunity to involve more stakeholders in the conversation. Our goal is to break down barriers of understanding, access and ownership.

Compound canvas is looking for creatives who are interested in exploring / discussing / questioning how space is created + understood. Examples of this could be about your creative process, how you present your work or your thoughts on how you situate yourself in different spaces you engage with; the choice is yours!

Topic examples:

  • The role of visual arts in creating/reflecting a city's identity
  • Rethinking the process of participatory urban planning
  • How culture shapes neighbourhoods
  • The effect of Western urban design trends on planning theory
  • Guerilla urbanism
  • How values are reflected in spaces through design
  • Bottom-up/small-big approaches to spatial design
  • How one's identity impacts one's experience of a space
Submission options:

  • 500 - 700 word written blog piece (photographs & videos encouraged)
  • Photo story (10 -15 photographs) + 100 word introduction
