When: Sunday November 20th, 2022 2:00 PM
Where:
Schwan Lake (behind Simpkins Swim Center off 17th Ave, in the Live Oak neighborhood of Santa Cruz)
We will start with a brief explanation of shinrin-yoku practice, plus a brief meditation to prepare us. Then we’ll spend an hour or more on a beautiful walk among the oaks, gently and reverently immersing ourselves in the sensory experience of the woods and wetlands. At the end, we’ll re-assemble and share insights from our experiences (and perhaps some forest tea).
We will be outdoors for the full time – please dress in layers (we'll be close to the shore, which may be much cooler than in town) and wear comfortable clothes and shoes for spending time on this easy and accessible trail. You may want to bring a portable chair if you think you'll prefer to sit most of the time (we'll help you get set up).
