Ski Touring

(cost includes transport, two nights at the lodge and food)

Description: Come and enjoy the great ski touring terrain on Mt Ruapehu away from the busy ski field area, we will be based at the lodge for the weekend.

If you have a season’s pass/day pass bring it along as we can make use of the lifts to get up the mountain, otherwise you can skin/walk up from the lodge.
A good level of fitness is required and an ability to ski off-piste terrain.
New to ski touring? No worries, so long as you are fit come along and try it out.

- Skis/Snowboard
- Probe/Shovel/Transceiver
(can hire some of this if required)

Other requirements - If you have dietary requirements outside of what is provided you need to self-cater some of your meals. You can check the preset menu to see what is planned for your stay and use ingredients available in your self-catered menu. It also makes sense for you to roster yourself on the food preparation crew if you need to know what’s going into your food. Keep in mind, the lodge is run by the club and the people staying at the lodge. These volunteers are not qualified chefs and cannot cater for specific dietary requirements.
