Writing Workshop for JSPG-NSPN Summer Standard Issue

The Journal of Science Policy & Governance (JSPG) and the National Science Policy Network (NSPN) are pleased to partner on the 2024 JSPG Summer Standard Issue, with the goal of generating and amplifying policy ideas from the next generation and launching ideas into action. This workshop will guide participants through approaches and strategies to communicating science and engineering ideas to policy audiences for impactful outcomes. A variety of article formats are welcomed at JSPG, including policy memos, policy briefs, and policy position papers. A keynote presentation will feature principles of and best practices in science policy writing alongside examples from notable science policy achievements. Field-specific small group discussions will be led by a NSPN and JSPG leadership, guiding participants through the real-world steps of identifying a policy problem, organizing appropriate and sufficient evidence, and designing and writing and advocacy approach.
