After School Enrichment Clubs for students K-5 (see choices below)
TEK pays the Thales Staff to teach clubs. Participation supports your staff.
Please follow the below registration procedures to register for a club.

Dates: Tuesdays: April 12- May 31 (8 sessions)
Time: 3:15-4:30 (Students remain in classrooms prior to clubs beginning and then dismissed to club room)
Location: Thales Academy Apex
Cost: $180/8 week session (note that we have lengthened Q4 from 6 weeks to 8 weeks)

Bonkers for Books- Springtime Fun!
Grades K-1    
Taught by Beth Neil
Are you bonkers for good books? Then this is the club for you! Each week Ms.Neil will share some of her favorite books, teach important literacy skills and connect it all to a  STEM activity. Students will read some exciting titles such as, Here Comes Spring, and create tissue paper butterflies, Bunny Trouble, and make bunny rabbit masks, The Curious Garden, and make tulip hand crafts and much more! Come read and create with Mrs. Neil!
 
How Do You Build That?
Grades 1-3
Taught by Nirissa Barbour
Whether you are Iggy Peck the Architect or Rosie Revere the Engineer, come design and build with us!  We will design and build new creations such as houses, bridges and other structures using Legos, recyclables and other materials. We will even test our structures to see if they can withstand certain forces. All of this hands-on fun will be tied into some of our favorite children’s literature. Come build, read and create with us!
 
Ready, Set, Go- Running Club
Grades 2-5
Taught by Libby Blanton
Do you love to run, get exercise and have fun outside?  Then you need to join us for the new TEK Run Club! Each week we will warm up as a group and then challenge our running stamina, leading up to a Fun Run during our last session! In addition to running laps on the track, we will work on fitness through run related games, such as relay races and red light/green light. At the end of each meeting we record our laps and as we work towards reaching specific goals. Ready, set, go!
 
Minecraft EDU Club  
Grades 3-5
Taught by Brad Mauro
Join Mr. Mauro in this exciting technology club where students will learn all about Minecraft EDU. This version of Minecraft is designed for education in a classroom setting and allows for fun, interactive lessons for students through playing the game of Minecraft.  Mr. Mauro will have total control over students in the Minecraft world, and all lessons will be safe and educational. Creativity and teamwork will be emphasized. Lessons will cover a variety of subjects like language arts, science, history and culture, computer science, art and design, and math.
 
Treble Makers
Grades 3-5
Taught by Emily Cannady
Do you love to sing? This is the club for you! During this club, students will learn proper singing techniques, develop part-singing skills, and improve general musicianship, all while singing fun music with friends! Each week we will learn fun vocal warm-ups and songs, ranging from standard choral music to pop choral music. On the last day of the club, students will have the opportunity to perform LIVE in front of friends and family! Chorus is a GREAT way to make new friends, develop a sense of belonging,  and enjoy the music making process. I can’t wait to sing with you!!
