NCAR Open Hackathon - Team Formation
NOAA and NCAR will be hosting the NOAA/NCAR Open Hackathon taking place at NCAR's Mesa Lab Feb 21 (virtual) and Feb 28 to Mar 2 (hybrid). Developer teams are invited to submit CPU/GPU scientific software projects and work with computational scientists and technical mentors towards advancing scientific research codes. Given the increased availability of GPU devices on Derecho, GPU programming projects are highly encouraged but CPU/other projects are still accepted. Successful project teams typically have 3-5 members.

If you are looking to add to your team or want to offer your support, please enter your information below to either:

1. Propose a team project where you are seeking colleagues to support your development efforts during the event (and perhaps in the future). You'll be asked to share brief project details below. Teams will be expected to introduce new members to their project and code prior to the event.

2. Offer your support as a research software engineer or project manager for a specific team. You may detail skills you feel confident in offering (or learning further as is encouraged during the hackathon). Team members will be expected to familiarize themselves with projects and codebases prior to the hackathon.

EXTENDED: This team formation survey will close midnight Dec 8th, 2022 in order to provide teams sufficient time to match proposed projects and individuals offering support. The deadline set on the application site for NOAA/NCAR Open Hackathon is Dec 14th, 2022.
