SAFETYRULES AT SØRLANDET KLATRESENTER:

Age limits:
  • Children below the age of 13 must always be accompanied by an adult. The adult has to make sure that the child follows the safety precautions.
  • Children between the ages 13-17 can climb in the gym alone if a parent has signed the disclaimer on their behalf.

General rules:
  • Avoid unnecessary noise, use your inside voice.
  • No running.
  • No loose objects on your person in the climbing wall.
  • No climbing under the influence of drugs.
 
Climbing with Autobelay:
  • You are responsible for getting safety training from our instructors before you start climbing with an autobelay.
  • You must always perform a self-check before you start climbing. For children below 13 years of age this must be done by an adult. 
  • If you lack a belay certification your harness must be checked by an instructor or another person with a belay-certification at the start of the session and if the harness is taken off and on again during the session.  

Bouldering:
  • Do not walk in the fall-zone. While you are on the ground you are solely responsible for not being hit by a falling climber. 
  • The mattresses are there to fall on, not to play on. No gymnastics, running or playing allowed.  

Rope Climbing:
  • To belay indepentently in our gym, you must have the national belay-certification ( Brattkort or Topptaukort)

  • All climbing is done at your own risk. Sørlandet Klatresenter is not liable to compensate for any injuries that may happen while climbing or other activities in the climbing gym.  
  • As a guest you are responsible for following the safety precautions and instructions from the staff. Failure to do so can lead to the guest being sent away.
  • Any form of paid instruction at the climbing gym must be cleared with Sørlandet Klatresenter.  
  • If you as a guest observe hazardous faults in the gym or guests exhibiting reckless or unwanted behaviour you are duty bound to inform the staff.
