“The cracks are where the light gets in…”
On Monday 8th March 11am-1pm in Celebration of International Women’s Day, NCCWN Donegal Women’s Network invites you to join us for a unique “Cracking Up” creative arts online workshop.
A fun and interactive workshop facilitated by Artist Julie Griffiths, using the concept of Kintsugi to recognise and embrace women’s lived experiences.
“Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold, a metaphor for embracing your flaws and imperfections”
We will be looking at the importance of women’s health and equality through the lens of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages) & (SDG5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls)
This is a space for acknowledging the importance of women’s wellness, recognising the challenges and difficulties the pandemic has brought to our lives, but also looking at the ways women have gotten through these challenges times.
**The majority of the required workshop materials will be posted out to you; however, you are required to provide your own pottery object (i.e. plate or cup) that you are be happy to break and repair during the workshop.
If you are interested in participating in this workshop please fill in this form and we will be in contact with you.
