The InTune Mother Society is partnering with HealthConnect One (HC One) to conduct our 10-week Community-Based Breastfeeding Peer Counselor (BFPC) Training, every Wednesday starting June 1st, 2022 - August 3rd, 2022 from 10AM to 2PM CST. HealthConnect One has been working for over 30 years in diverse and undeserved communities to train and support community health workers to promote maternal and child health and birth equity.
The purpose of the BFPC is to assist organization's like The InTune Mother Society in conducting Community-Based Peer Counselor training, implementing and/or supporting the program. The (10-week) LIVE virtual sessions and assignments will provide an overview of issues in implementing peer support programs in the context of a community based and interactive model. Additionally, participants will become familiar with and practice HC One's Community-based Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Training curriculum and participatory learning techniques of The InTune Mother Society to help increase the initiation and duration of breastfeeding among Black and Indigenous childbearing teens, women, and families as a part of First Food Equity.
