Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to apply to SWE++, a Society of Women Engineers (SWE) program at Santa Clara University. Please have your parent or legal guardian fill out this form if you are under 18 years old!
Here is some important information about our program:
- Our program is open to middle and high schoolers who identify as female or gender non-conforming. We refer to our program members as "gxrls" in order to acknowledge differences in gender expression and remind each other that more than one gender expression can be impacted by patriarchy, misogyny, and sexism.
- SWE++ is completely free.
- Our program runs every Saturday from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm at Santa Clara University.
- Our program is split into two levels:
a) Level 1 will run from Saturday, 1/14 until Saturday, 3/11. This session will be for gxrls with no previous coding knowledge. This level focuses primarily on Scratch, a beginner-friendly coding language. In later weeks we will transition into Python.
b) Level 2 will run from Saturday, 4/8 until Saturday, 6/3. Students who enroll in the first session are encouraged to continue onto the second session. It would be best if students entered with previous programming experience, since this 2nd level will focus completely on Python. However, beginners are still welcome.
