WTS Portland DC Summit
WTS Transportation YOU is a hands-on, interactive, mentoring program that offers young girls an introduction to a wide variety of transportation careers. DC SUMMIT is the signature program of Transportation YOU and this year the DC Summit is being offered virtually! You will be paired with a working professional to learn and hear firsthand about opportunities and careers in the transportation industry! You will be apart of a cohort of students from across the US as you virtually tour places like autonomous vehicle research centers, biking and driving simulators, and behind the scenes at airports. You’ll hear from transportation professionals with engineering, planning, policy, data analysis and so many other backgrounds.  

We are looking for three students to represent the WTS Portland Chapter at the 2021 virtual DC Summit, which will include three 4 hour sessions over the course of three days. If you'd like to learn more about careers in transportation, apply now! Applicants must meet the following requirements:
    • Answer the questions below and submit application by 11:59pm on May 28
    • Be a student between 15 to 17 years old by June 22, 2021
    • Obtain consent to attend the virtual summit from parent or guardian
    • Be available to attend all 3 days of summit, June 22, 23, 24 from 10am to 1:30pm
    • Complete and return online pre-summit career assessment form by June 8, 2021

Limit your response to 1,000 characters (letters and spaces) or less. We recommend  typing your response in Microsoft Word (or a similar program) so you can easily keep track of the number of characters, then copy and paste your response into this application. *
