PolySummer TA - Characteristics and Responsibilities
A PolySummer TA has a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to the following: helping children as young as 5 years old get around campus, helping students in classes, running copies of handouts for a teacher, sitting and being patient while a teacher teaches, waiting patiently for instructions from a teacher, keeping an eye out in a class for behavior issues and intervening when appropriate, helping children with crafts, playing with children on the field or court, helping with a theater production, running errands for administrators, and much, much more.

The TA who is most valued is the one who is flexible and able to be placed into any class or be assigned any task. This TA gets excited about the idea of working with kids of ALL ages and is able to take instructions from teachers and administrators. The TA needs to be a self-starter and assertive, yet understands that there will be times that require sitting and waiting for a task to be assigned to him or her.

The TA needs to be flexible, friendly, and smiley, and his or her disposition needs to be, in general, a happy one.

Please consider these expectations before applying.
