Learning Event #12 - Baptism
Do you know when you were baptized?  Who attended your baptism?  What do you remember about that day? *
Think about the last baptism you saw - where was it?  Who was involved (if you don't know the family, you can use general terms - the parents, godparents, etc.)?  What stood out about it to you?  How did it make you feel? *
Baptism makes us children in God's family.  What does being a child of God mean to you? *
Read Matthew 3:13-17.  What is this story about?  Why is it important? *
At the end of your 9th grade year, you celebrate your Confirmation.  The celebration of Confirmation is an affirmation of your Baptism, and you go through all of the baptismal promises that were made at your baptism.  Below are listed the baptismal promises.  Mark each if you have heard them before in other parts of the service. *
Required
How does being part of God's family equip you to survive the day-to-day challenges of life? *
Do you have to be baptized to go to heaven?  Why or why not? *
What elements are needed for baptism? *
