As we begin a new year, The White House Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Cumberland Connect would like to honor and recognize those individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations that make our community great! We are counting on our community to help us Discover the best candidates for our awards. There will be an Awards Luncheon held on Tuesday, February 20th to honor and celebrate our recipients.
2022 Recipients: Impact (non-profit) Award - HIS Children Foundation; Jr. Citizen of the Year - Noah Freeman; Citizen of the Year - Tal Plumlee; Horizon (Business of the Year) - Deja Moo Coffee and Creamery
It is unlikely that last year's recipients will receive an award two years in a row unless there is an exceptional reason to put them into the running again.
Deadline to submit nominees is THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2024
The Citizen of the Year Award- recognizes an individual with outstanding leadership and citizenship in the community, while demonstrating exemplary vision, civic pride and commitment to the betterment of society. The individual should live in the White House area, and/or his/her activities should be centered in the same area. The individual recognized does not have to be a member of the White House Area Chamber of Commerce or the business community. It may be an individual from any walk of life, and there are no requirements or restrictions relating to gender, race, religion or ethnic background.
The Jr. Citizen of the Year Award- presented by White House Youth Soccer, recognizes and rewards a young person (Elementary - High School aged) who has demonstrated a strong commitment to service and leadership in our community. This service may take many forms, including volunteer work at school, library, park, etc. as an individual or through organizations such as, churches or other non-profits. Candidates should be leaders, demonstrating their leadership in extracurricular activities or some other form of civic involvement. The individual should attend school or be home-schooled in the White House area, and/or his/her activities should be centered in the same area. There are no requirements or restrictions relating to gender, race, religion or ethnic background.
The Horizon Award - recognizes a for-profit business that is a member in good standing of the White House Area Chamber of Commerce. This award will be based on four key components: Public visibility and positive impact, Community service and events, Economic development and fiscal responsibility and Attraction/Improvement to the City.
The Impact Award - recognizes a non-profit organization that exemplifies the following components: Community visibility, Community service or events, Community impact/reputation, and Community partnerships. Non-profit organization (based upon tax status), included but not limited to, service organizations, charities, schools, churches, sports clubs, community activism and social services.
Award winners will be determined by the Official Awards Committee and/or the Board of Directors for the White House Area Chamber of Commerce
