Methodists for Ukraine evaluation
Methodists for Ukraine has offered Methodists the opportunity to host refugees from Ukraine by providing a more targeted matching service and wraparound support. We welcome feedback from anyone who had interaction with this scheme and its publicity, even if they were not directly involved in a match.

Please answer the questions that are relevant to you and your experiences with the Methodists for Ukraine project. No question is compulsory. Your response will be anonymous and will contribute to evaluating the project.

In all of the following questions, we want to capture the learning – good and bad – that can help inform the Church’s current and future mission projects, particularly those that emerge as an emergency response to a humanitarian situation.

The main aim is to capture learning for the Methodists for Ukraine project, but you are welcome to share reflections from local initiatives too.

Thank you for taking the time to fill out this survey. If you would like to contact someone about this survey, please email lampardr@methodistchurch.org.uk.

If willing, please describe the extent of your involvement with Methodists for Ukraine.
In your view, did the Methodist Church respond well to the emergency situation of the outbreak of war in Ukraine in February 2022, particularly as regards the arrival of Ukrainian refugees in the UK? Why or why not?
How effectively did word get out about the Methodists for Ukraine scheme? What was successful, and what were the challenges in doing this?
What do you believe were the barriers to Methodists getting involved in this scheme? These reasons can be about Methodists for Ukraine in particular or hosting Ukrainian refugees in general.
How did the relationship between the Connexional Team and your role/area operate? Did you experience any issues or obstacles to this working well?
Are there ways this project could have been structured differently between local church, district and Connexional Team to better enable collaboration?
Methodists for Ukraine will soon move into a new phase with reduced staff capacity. What support (if any) should be offered into the future, and how could this be met?
What should the Methodist Church be doing to continue to respond to ongoing war in Ukraine?
