Full Application Requirements
You do NOT need to complete these items to submit a pre-application.
You will need to complete them to become a member, so they are provided to give you a head-start.
Our staff is also available to help guide you in these preliminary steps.
1. INSURANCE
Proof of product liability coverage, with a minimum of one million dollars per occurrence is
required. You can contact your personal insurance agent for details on how to obtain this
insurance coverage.
2. APPLICATION FEE
Once you’ve decided that you want to go ahead with making your product there is an application fee
3. FOOD SAFETY AND SANITATION COURSE CERTIFICATE
Kitchen Members need to obtain a “ServSafe” or comparable certificate of completion. This class is offered locally and a class schedule will be provided.
4. FACILITY USE/KITCHEN AGREEMENT
Kitchen Members will need to read and sign the Facility Use Agreement. This agreement
outlines the fee schedule, the required food product liability insurance, as well as facility
services that we provide.
5. BUSINESS PLAN SYNOPSIS
Submit a single-page summary that includes a description of the business, what is being produced and strategies for success.
6. KITCHEN SAFETY ORIENTATION
Kitchen Members will complete training on the proper use of all the equipment in the kitchen, UpStart's rules and the familiarization of Good Manufacturing Practices.
