NOTICE TO BIDDERS
** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** This is a generic ARCAT
specification, provided in the style and format of all ARCAT manufacturer's
specifications. The Notes to Specifier are intended to provide guidance in
editing the text. Delete and add text as required for your individual project.
Sealed
proposals will be received by Canton Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania,
at 1265 West Chestnut Street, until 11:00 AM on May 23, 2023, for the Hickory
Street Turnback Project. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud shortly
thereafter.
The Hickory Street Turnback Project consists
of the labor, materials, and equipment necessary to modify Hickory Street,
Euclid Avenue, a portion of Fayette Street and a portion of Atlas Street to
meet Canton Township Ordinance requirements. Sitework includes, but not limited
to approximately 5,750 SY of milling, 5,750 SY of 2” depth 9.5mm Wearing
Course, 3,600 of bituminous wedge curb, 16 storm inlets, 925 LF of 15” SLCPP
storm pipe, 260 L.F. of 18” SLCPP storm pipe, 1 storm manhole, 1 concrete
endwall, Base Repair and Sub-Base Repair
on Hickory Street and Euclid Avenue, Utility Relocations as needed, manhole and
valve box adjustments, E&S Controls, Traffic Controls, and other pertinent
items in accordance with the Specifications and Plans.
Proposals must be on
the forms furnished by the Township Engineer. The bid must be accompanied by a
certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid
price, made payable to Canton Township.
Bid packages are available at no cost
via download from the Harshman CE Group, LLC website at https://www.harshmanllc.com under the “bidding” tab.
Hard copies are available at the Township Engineer’s office, Harshman CE Group,
LLC located at 100 Courson Hill Road, Washington, PA 15301, upon payment of
$50. Checks are to be made payable to Harshman CE Group, LLC.
The bid envelope
must be clearly marked “Canton Township - Hickory Street Turnback Project”.
Canton Township reserves
the right to reject any or all bid proposals or any portion thereof.
Attention of bidders
is called to the requirements concerning the payment of not less than the
prevailing wage and salary rate provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act
442 for the Hickory Street Turnback Project.
Liquidated damages
will apply at the rate of $500.00 per calendar day.
