Who will win in a battle of the pen? Tobias Wolff or Grace Paley? Anton Chekhov or Edward P. Jones? Join The Inner Loop for Literary Madness, a month-long fictional tournament and virtual fundraiser. We’re pitting famous historic and contemporary writers against one another in four rounds of literary death matches, in the style of the Sweet 16 basketball tournament. Each match will be narrated by an author from The Inner Loop whom you know and love!
Fill out your bracket by March 1st to follow along – there’s $150 in gift cards to local bookstores waiting for someone at the end of this tournament! Entries submitted after March 1 will give you access to the exciting literary results of each round and will help support The Inner Loop’s programming (though you won’t be eligible for the bouquet of gift cards).
The rules:
- We request donations of at least $15 to fill out a bracket. There’s no maximum donation – every dollar you give sustains The Inner Loop’s ability to amplify local authors and support the DC literary community!
You can fill out as many brackets as you like, as long as you donate each time.
