PLEASE READ:

Thank you for your interest in participating in our annual artistic event, Perspectives in Visual Worship (formally "Perspectives Art Show") at Crossroads Christian Fellowship church in Bigfork, MT. This "Intent to Participate" form is to help you understand our purpose in this endeavor, to help us get to know you better and also to help you decide if it is right for you. We hope it is.

Similar to how worship leaders carefully select songs and invite you to lift your voice in worship, the art team has likewise, carefully selected a Biblical theme and invite you to lift your hands as tools to create visual worship to the Lord. It is your unique perspective applied through artwork that will help others connect to the scripture in a unique way.

So, grab your art tools and let's get started!

NOTE: In previous years we used "Art Show" to describe this event. However, we feel this has led some into believing that this is simply a showcase of artwork with a Christian twist. We believe it is so much more then that.

We have redefined it by changing the title to "Perspectives in Visual Worship (PVW)." We feel it better describes this is as a collaborative, active act of worship. This is a call to God's creative people to join together, directly responding to scripture and expressing adoration to God through visual arts.

Yes, we are still holding a special event in the Spring to share all of your creations together in an art show style event. However, the show ought not be the driving force behind your approach nor dictate your creation.

We are looking for several participants who are willing to commit to creating bigger pieces of art this coming year. Can we count on you?

Sorry, creating "big" just is not my thing.

"As a participant in the 2024 Perspectives in Visual Worship event, I understand that..."

...the purpose of this event is to respond to Scripture with visual aesthetics as my worship to God.

...because this is an "active" act of worship, I will not submit older artwork even if it fits the current theme. I will only submit a NEWLY created piece of artwork, created in direct response to the theme verse.

...I will read the Bible verse(s) in its context, pray and seek God's leading for what to create. (Bible verses will be given out in a group email at a later time)

...I will not deviate from the theme or chosen verse(s) selected for this year's art event.

...it is dishonorable to copy or use someone else's artwork/photography as my submission.

...my final submission will be the original artwork and NOT a print or copy of my work.

...the art team has the right to refuse any submissions that do not support the purpose of the event.

...the art team will communicate with me through email for the duration of my participation.

...I will do my best to meet the deadlines and will communicate any unforeseen complications.

...this is not a juried/judged art show. There will be no "winners." Any monetary exchanges will be handled privately.

...my artwork can be photographed for promotional purposes of future church events only.

...I am responsible for bringing my finished artwork to/from the church for a special art event at the end.

Q&A Informational Meeting

If we have enough people interested, we would like to meet as a group and answer all of your questions. It would most likely be held on a weekday evening or on the weekend.
