The Junior Orchestra Program offers four ensembles for string players 7 - 13 years of age:
• PREPARATORY STRINGS (ages 7 – 9 no ensemble experience)

• PRE-CHAMBER STRINGS B (ages 7 – 9 with minimum 1-year ensemble experience)

• PRE-CHAMBER STRINGS A (ages 8 – 10, Grades 3 – 5 RCM)

• CHAMBER STRINGS (ages 9 – 12, Grade 6 RCM minimum )

New students: submit your audition application form for the appropriate orchestra. Use the guidelines above for age and level.
All new students ages 7 – 9, with no ensemble experience, will be placed in the 2020 - 2021 Preparatory Strings – no audition is required but must complete an audition application form.
PREPARATORY STRINGS – current 2019 – 2020 members are automatically placed in Pre-Chamber B Strings – no audition required but must complete an audition application form.
PRE-CHAMBER STRINGS B – current 2019 – 2020 members are automatically placed in Pre-Chamber A Strings – no audition required but must complete an audition application form.
PRE-CHAMBER STRINGS A – current 2019 – 2020 members may remain in this orchestra - no audition required but must complete an audition application form.
Video and audition application form are required for Chamber Strings (ages 9 – 12) or Junior Sinfonia (ages 12 and up) - see below for YouTube video instructions.
CHAMBER STRINGS– All returning members will be accepted without doing an audition but must complete an audition application form.
Video audition is required for new members for Chamber Strings.

VIDEO AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Two contrasting pieces (unaccompanied) - 3 minutes maximum length per piece
• One scale, major or minor, of your choice - should show the current level of achievement
Uploading a Video to YouTube

Go to
https://www.youtube.com in a web browser. You can upload a video directly from the YouTube web page.
If you do not already have an account you will need to create one and sign-in.

Click the camera icon with a plus (+) sign and click Upload Video, which is located in the upper-right corner next to your profile image. The YouTube Studio web page will appear with an "Upload Video" window in the center of the page.

Drag your video file to the arrow on the window, or you can click the blue SELECT FILE button, browse to the file on your computer, and then click Open.

Add a title to your video (eg: Chamber Strings Audition for Jane Smith)
5.
Visibility- please be sure to choose “Unlisted”, so that anyone with the link may view the video. The video will not be publicly listed.
