Office of Pupil Transportation New Student Transportation
This form is for incoming kindergartners or newly registered students.
The Office of Pupil Transportation has specific guidelines for students using the New York City Board of Education Transportation. The guidelines are as follows:
If your child is in grades K through 2 and resides less than ½ miles from school, he or she is eligible for half fare on Public Transportation.
If your child is in grades K through 2 and resides ½ mile or more from school, he or she is eligible for General Education Transportation (Yellow School Bus) or free fare on Public Transportation (a MetroCard).
Eligibility guidelines change when students enter 3rd grade.
The Bureau of Pupil Transportation only provides one mode of transportation and does not allow your child to ride the bus and receive a Metro card.  For more information check the HCES website or the OPT at www.opt-osfns.org/opt or contact Eric Adisa, HCES student transportation coordinator at eadisa@hccs.hunter.cuny.edu.  HCES tentative bus routes/stops are available on the website.
Qualifying students must complete the appropriate section and return it to the main office by Thursday, September 1, 2021.
