WHAT'S THE LOGBOOK?

First created at the end of 2020 as Compass Music's industry blog, The Logbook gives diverse music industry professionals from across the globe a place to share their passion for their local music scene, their insider insights, and their pro tips with an international audience.

We're proud to say that in its first year, The Logbook's articles were viewed by people in over 120 countries, with readers coming from 50 different countries on average each month. One of our articles was also shortlisted for Reeperbahn's International Music Journalism Awards!

With the launch of Lighthouse in private beta in Fall 2021, The Logbook evolves into an even more extensive collection of professional tips and tools to better guide Lighthouse's Members on their journey to international success.

WHAT COULD I WRITE ABOUT?

Pitches submitted should be in line with our mission to make the world a richer place through more music diversity reaching more places.

- Keen to offer an in-depth overview of your local music industry, its key players, and its particularities? Cool!

- Up for explaining some important cultural differences global professionals should keep in mind when approaching or working with people in your home country? Awesome!

- Maybe you'd like to share some of your biggest export success or mistakes? Yes, please!

- How about your top tips for foreign acts looking to enter your market? Fantastic!

We'd also love to read about how you connect with your musical heritage, your strategy for making festival lineups more diverse, the initiatives or organisations in your country that are working to make the music industry more inclusive or sustainable, the singing language and musical styles that are most popular in your market, and lots of other things too!

PRACTICAL INFO:

We're looking for articles between 1,500 - 2,000 words (it can be longer, but not shorter).

We'll pay a flat fee of 50€ (+ VAT if applicable) per article upon reception of a valid invoice (please only apply if you can legally issue an invoice!).

We accept submissions from both new and seasoned writers.

DEADLINE: ROLLING

Full terms of agreement will be sent to selected writers.
