Douglas County Summer Fun & Meals 2022
HOORAY!  Douglas County Summer Fun & Meals is back!

We will serve delicious lunches IN-PERSON only at no cost M-F throughout Douglas Co. Unfortunately, no delivery or carryout is allowable for 2022 per ISBE and USDA.  

Program Start & End Dates For All Sites: Wed. June 1st - Fri, July 29th

Lunch served  11 am - 12 pm every Mon-Fri throughout June and July 2022.

2022 SUMMER FUN & MEALS Sites:
Arcola School;  Arthur Elem School; Atwood Grade School; Newman - Park on the square (Weather Permitting)/American Legion (Rain/Cold/Very Hot); Tuscola United Methodist Church serving Tuscola and VG.

Bus service to/from meal sites daily is currently available for the following sites: Arcola, Tuscola, and Villa Grove. The bus service was deeply discounted by Gould Bus Service in combination with the financial support from each of the three districts.
 
Our program will be coordinating with Summer School in Arcola and others upon request.

Please contact Gould Bus Service 217-253-2232 to get approximate pickup and drop-off times for your child if they are riding the bus.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PROCEEDING:                     >>>This program offers bus service to and from the following meal sites daily: Arcola, Tuscola, and Villa Grove.  >>>Bus service is not required to attend any site. Youth are welcome to walk or ride their bike to any site. Parents/Guardians may also drop off and pickup. Parents are welcome to accompany their child into any meal site and can stay with their child or can wait outside - either are fine.                                                                              >>> Children under 5yrs are NOT permitted without an adult or sibling 12 and older and if coming with a sibling 12 or older, prior approval from program coordinator, Summer Phillips, 217-253-4137 Ext 1202 is required.    >>> Children 5 years of age MUST be fully toilet-trained, able to feed themselves WITHOUT assistance.  Children 1-5 may attend if accompanied by adult/guardian only.                                                                                                           >>> Bus service is only available to those 6 and older and if under 6 a parent or guardian is required.                             Site supervision will typically be 1 supervisor/10-15 children.      >>>  For questions: 217-253-4137  Ext 1202.                                                                              Thank you for your cooperation.
