Be viewed as and conduct oneself as a responsible corporate citizen.
Be at least 19 years of age.
Adhere to all policies of the Omineca Arts Centre Board.
Declare any conflicts of interest.
Commit to holding the position of Director for a 2-year term.
Prepare for and attend at least 9 board meetings per year.
Create and conduct business with mindfulness to ensuring the Omineca Arts Centre is a safe space for everyone.
Be knowledgeable about the organization's values, mission, programs, and performance.
Exercise best efforts to attend the signature events held by the Omineca Arts Centre Society.
Volunteer at special events as required.
Participate in fundraising efforts.
On short notice, Directors may be invited to attend special events and meetings throughout the community, so board members should make best efforts to attend such events.
Participate in or lead a committee to advance the work of the Omineca Arts Centre (e.g. strategic planning committee, finance committee, fundraising committee, events committee, etc.).
Assist with efforts to help the Omineca Arts Centre grow. For example, identify and introduce potential new members or invite a non-member to an Omineca Arts Centre event.
Consider holding a position on the board, including the position of Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer.
