CSOs organised as the Fair Finance Coalition of Southern Africa invite members of the media to attend a press briefing to engage on civil society expectations and concerns about South Africa's Just Energy Transition Partnership Investment Plan. Members of the coalition have previously raised concerns that a lack of transparency has made it challenging for civil society to engage and contribute to the JETP and JETP-IP and that this can eventually undermine the country’s JETP and just transition. Members of the Coalition urge the Presidential Climate Commission to enhance the participation of affected communities and transparency to ensure the JETP-IP delivers a just transition.  The Coalition envisages a JET-IP that can deliver real solutions to address the country’s energy, climate and socio-economic crises, and protect affected communities.
