Acquaint volunteers from 35 different countries are helping bring the world together while strengthening their own intercultural communication skills. They use the Acquaint platform (https://www.acquaint.org/) to connect for one-on-one conversations, which are made easier and more fun by a series of virtual icebreakers. By listening and sharing with one another, volunteers work to build peace and global solidarity. We call this “cultural networking” and it has the power to gradually erode barriers of prejudice and misunderstanding that divide humanity.

Each week, volunteers enter their availability on the platform and are paired for sessions based on their time. Pairings are random. We often tell volunteers “you could end up talking to someone right down the street or on the other side of the world! Either way, there is much you can learn from them.”

Filling out and submitting this form will begin the onboarding process for new volunteers. Onboarding and training takes about 4-6 hours total and involves getting to know an Acquaint mentor, who will guide you through how to use the platform. More instructions will follow via email.
