3:  Minnesota's union trades workers build commercial, industrial, residential transportation, water and energy infrastructure projects across Minnesota. Why are you seeking the endorsement of the Building Trades? *
4:  The Building Trades and their contractor partners invest in privately funded state-of-the-art training and Registered Apprenticeship Programs. There are currently more than 10,000 apprentices statewide participating in more than 50 union construction Registered Apprenticeship Programs. How have you / will you supported Registered Apprenticeship Programs? *
5:  Minnesota's prevailing wage law requires employees working on publicly funded construction projects be paid wage rates comparable to wage paid for similar work in the area where the project is located. Do you support inclusion of prevailing wage requirements on all publicly funded construction projects? *

6:  The energy sector is undergoing a transition from legacy power to renewable power generation. Many of our union members construct, maintain and operate legacy power plants and infrastructure, and many build and maintain renewable energy infrastructure. What are your plans to meet the energy workforce needs of today and tomorrow? *
 7:  Minnesota's Building and Construction Trades Councils support energy and mining projects that create jobs and meet rigorous environmental review and permitting processes. When these projects arise and the required permits from the State are received, will you support these projects? *

8:  Every year in Minnesota, millions of dollars' worth of construction projects are built under Project Labor Agreements (PLAs). Do you support the use of Project Labor Agreements on all publicly funded construction projects? *

9:  Minnesota recently passed the toughest wage theft protection law in the country ensuring that workers are paid fairly for the work they perform. However, we continue to see labor trafficking and worker status fraud in our state. Will you publicly support campaigns in the Minneapolis area to make all construction in your area meet strong labor standards? *
10: How will you address wage theft, labor trafficking, and worker misclassification / status fraud in Minnesota’s construction industry and in your community? *
11: Wage theft and illegal schemes to pay workers off-the-books are rampant in parts of the Twin Cities construction industry.  Unscrupulous contractors keep bids low by not paying overtime, workers' compensation, unemployment, or payroll taxes.  Developers who hire these contractors profit from these practices and keep downward pressure on wages and living standards on the entire industry.  Will you support City policy that would forbid developers from hiring contractors with a history of these violations as a condition for receiving a building permit? 
12: The Building Trades support sustainable and long-term funding for construction including public buildings, housing, education, economic development and infrastructure including water, transportation and transit. What is your plan for funding infrastructure projects in the near and long-term? *
13: Do you support the right of all workers to organize and collectively bargain? Would you support laws that ensure workers have the freedom to form and join unions without fear of employer retaliation? *
